Energy interconnection
between Lithuania and Poland
European regional electricity systems
Power interconnection project implemented by the LitPol Link will connect for the first time the Baltic electricity system with the Continental European Network. At the moment, the Lithuanian electricity system is connected only with the Latvia, Estonia and CIS state systems.
Lithuania-Poland interconnection will connect the Western and Central European electricity network (Austria, Belgium, Bosnia, Bulgaria, Czech Republic, West Denmark, Greece, Spain, Italy, Montenegro, Croatia, Poland, Luxembourg, Macedonia, France, The Netherlands, Portugal, Romania, Serbia, Slovak Republic, Slovenia, Switzerland, Hungary, Germany) with the Baltic state networks.
Since July, 2009, the Baltic Transmission System Operators are part of the ENTSO-E – European Network of Transmission System Operators of Electricity. PSE Operator S.A. as Polish Transmission System Operator is also a member of ENTSO-E and Ms. MaĆgorzata Klawe from PSE Operator S.A. is Vice Chairperson of the Board of ENTSO-E.
