2011-05-11Final public meetings on the Special plan for the construction of a power interconnection on the Lithuanian side took place in Lazdijai and Alytus
We inform that, on the 9th of May 2011 (in Lazdijai) and on the 10th of May 2011 (in Alytus) the final public meetings on the Special plan for the construction of the power interconnection between Lithuania and Poland from the transformer station in Alytus to the Polish border took place.
During the meetings the importance and benefits both, for local community, Lithuania and other Baltic States related to the project of building the power interconnection between Lithuania and Poland, was presented. The procedures for conducting the Special Plan and related procedures for Strategic Environmental Assessment (SEA) and Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) were also presented in details.
Representatives of the local community and the media present at the meeting were asking questions and a discussion took place on both: the general aspects of the project and the specific interests of the local community and separate residents.
