The agreement on construction of the power stations in the municipality of Lomza

On September 12, 2011, in the offices of the district authorities in Łomża, a ceremonial signing of two important documents related to development of National Power System in North – Eastern Poland and project of power interconnection between Poland and Lithuania took place. Party to both of these agreement is PSE Operator S.A., company wholly owned by the state treasury, which is responsible for ensuring secure and cost-effective operation of the Polish Power System, and development of the domestic transmission grid and cross-border interconnections. The representatives of the Ministry of Economy, governor of Podlaskie Voivodship and local authorities took part in signing the agreements.

The first document is the Agreement between PSE Operator S.A. and consortium of PBE ELBUD Warszawa Sp. z o. o. (leader of consortium) and PBE ELBUD Katowice Sp. z o. o. on construction of the line 400kV Ełk – Łomża. Power line 400kV Ełk – Łomża is one of the key investment within the project of interconnection between Poland and Lithuania.

The Company was represented by the President of the Board, Henryk Majchrzak who, after signing the agreement, said – I am very happy with signing this agreement for construction of the line 400kV Ełk – Łomża. It is the next step bringing us closer to realization of this project, so important for energy security of Poland but also Europe. The construction of power interconnection between Poland and Lithuania remains one of the European Union priorities. Signing of today’s agreement is a proof for how strongly determined we are to realize the project.
The second document was Agreement on cooperation between PSE Operator S.A. and Łomża poviat together with  Łomża district in the scope of realization of the public purpose investment concerning construction of power station in Łomża district.
