Preparations for the second Link with Poland have started
The second power link with Poland that will complement the LitPol Link between Alytus and Ełk already in operation is one of the most important and complicated works in the preparations for the operation of the Baltic States’ power systems within synchronous grid of Continental Europe. Both Lithuania and Poland are considering the options of the new line’s route.
Second Lithuanian-Polish power link feasibility to be assessed
A second power interconnection linking Lithuania with Poland is planned to be built as the Baltic States are preparing for the synchronisation of their electricity systems with the networks of continental Europe. This week the Lithuanian electricity transmission system operator Litgrid announced a public procurement to develop a feasibility study on the future power interconnection route.
The last contract signed in the framework of LitPol Link interconnection project
The Lithuanian electricity transmission system operator Litgrid and A. Žilinskio ir Ko UAB, a company engaged in the design and construction of infrastructure objects, today signed the final contract as part of the strategic project of building the LitPol Link power interconnection between Lithuania and Poland.
Litgrid signed an agreement on reconstruction of Alytus switchyard, a gateway to LitPol Link
Lithuanian electricity transmission system operator Litgrid and A. Žilinskio ir Ko, a company engaged in the design and construction of electricity equipment, have signed an agreement on the reconstruction and expansion works of the 330 kV switchyard of the Alytus transformer substation.
Regarding key court ruling in LitPol Link project
On May 29, 2013, the Supreme Administrative Court of Lithuania passed a final decision in the administrative case concerning the legitimacy of the environmental impact assessment (EIA) of LitPol Link’s 400 kV power line. There is no appeal against the decision.
Consultancy contract signed between LITGRID and Pöyry SwedPower AB in support of the Litpol Link project implementation
On the 17th of May in Vilnius, the Lithuanian electricity transmission system operator Litgrid and Pöyry (through its subsidiary Pöyry SwedPower AB, Sweden), an international consulting and engineering company, signed a contract for provision of technical and consultancy services to support Litgrid and the joint Lithuanian-Polish project development company LitPol Link Sp. z o.o. in the implementation of the LitPol Link interconnection project. The contract value is 980 thousands litas.
Litgrid and ABB signed an agreement for design and construction of LitPol Link HVDC converter station
Litgrid, the Lithuanian electricity transmission system operator, and ABB, the global technology group, have signed an agreement for design and construction of a high-voltage direct current (HVDC) back-to-back converter station with a 400 kV switchyard in Alytus.
Artūras Vilimas Appointed President of the Management Board and CEO of LitPol Link
LitPol Link Supervisory Board has appointed Artūras Vilimas President of the Management Board and CEO of LitPol Link. Mr Vilimas will take this position as of February 1st. LitPol Link, the joint Lithuanian-Polish company, was set up in 2008 to coordinate the preparatory work of the power interconnection between Lithuania and Poland. Until December 2012 the company was headed by the incumbent minister of energy of the Republic of Lithuania, Jaroslav Neverovič.
The agreement for design and construction of Elk substation signed
On May 2, 2012 agreement on "Construction of the 400/110 kV Elk Bis substation, stage I and II" between PSE Operator and ELFEKO S.A. was signed. This work is a part of the project of the construction of energy power interconnection between Poland and Lithuania.
The contractor for the design of reconstruction of 330 kV switchyard in Alytus was selected
On February 21, 2012, as part of the project of the construction of Lithuania-Poland power interconnection the winner of the tender for the technical design and obtaining building permit for reconstruction of 330 kV switchyard in Alytus was selected.
LITGRID AB announced international public tender for the 500 MW Back-to Back HVDC Converter station with 400 kV switchyard in Alytus
Lithuanian Transmission System Operator – Litgrid AB has publically announced the tender for the 500 MW Back-to Back HVDC Converter station with 400 kV switchyard in Alytus. The tender mode is Negotiated Procedure with Prior Publication of a Contract Notice for Procurement of an EPC/Turnkey contract.
Litgrid AB has announced international public tender for technical project of the transmission line
The transmission system operator of Lithuania Litgrid AB announced international public tender for preparation of the technical project of transmission line for LitPol Link interconnection. The contractor for the technical project will be known in March 2012. The public tender was announced after the Ministry of Energy of Lithuania approved the special plan for construction of the part of the line of this international power interconnection between Alytus and border with Poland.
The agreement on construction of the power stations in the municipality of Lomza
On September 12, 2011, in the offices of the district authorities in Łomża, a ceremonial signing of two important documents related to development of National Power System in North – Eastern Poland and project of power interconnection between Poland and Lithuania took place. Party to both of these agreement is PSE Operator S.A., company wholly owned by the state treasury, which is responsible for ensuring secure and cost-effective operation of the Polish Power System, and development of the domestic transmission grid and cross-border interconnections. The representatives of the Ministry of Economy, governor of Podlaskie Voivodship and local authorities took part in signing the agreements.
Letter of Intent on the cooperation on the implementation of the project of power interconnection construction between Poland and Lithuania in Warmińsko-Mazurskie voivodeship
On May 31, 2011 at the Voivodeship Office in Olsztyn the Letter of Intent on the cooperation on the realization of the investments involving construction of the power stations and transmission lines in Warmińsko-Mazurskie voivodeship was signed by the Warmińsko-Mazurskie voivodeship governor Marian Podziewski, and the representatives of the local authorities of Warmia and Mazury.
