LitPol Link capacity tests successful
Today for the first time in history 60 megawatts of electricity was transmitted from Lithuania to Poland through LitPol Link. This test, as well as other scheduled tests of the new interconnection aim to check whether it is fully prepared to transmit electricity in both directions between Poland and Lithuania.
LitPol Link power line energized for the first time
For the first time electricity flowed through the wires of Lithuanian-Polish interconnection LitPol Link. These first tests of power line stretching from Elk to Alytus aimed to check whether the line is ready for power transmission.
Power interconnection LitPol Link has crossed the border and is approaching completion
The border crossing part of the power bridge between Poland and Lithuania has been completed. Wires were successfully stretched between the 400kV overhead line pylons located at the opposite sides of the border. The LitPol Link power interconnection works are approaching completion, the link will be operational in three months.
LitPol Link project is close to completion, power link will start to work in 99 days
Builders of power bridge between Poland and Lithuania have started counting the last 100 days to project’s completion. Today, on 24th of September, progress of “LitPol Link” was assessed by the Minister of Energy Rokas Masiulis. After visiting construction sites minister has concluded that this important connection will be finished on time.
Reconstruction of the 330 kV switchyard – the gate of LitPol Link - completed
One of the key components of the electricity interconnection with Poland LitPol Link - the 330 kV switchyard at the Alytus transformer substation was completed in the beginning of September. As soon as LitPol Link starts operating, the switchyard will become the crossroad of the power flows between Lithuania and Poland.
Works on Poland – Lithuania connection are continued on overhead line track in Lithuania
Works on connection Poland – Lithuania continue on overhead line track in Lithuania. Foundations of thirty pylons will be re-designed and changed. The most intensive works on Poland – Lithuania connection are currently carried out on a different part of the connection –Back-to-Back converter station, where equipment is being installed.
LitPol Link power bridge will be delivered on schedule
The construction of the European priority project, the high voltage power interconnection LitPol Link between Poland and Lithuania is progressing according to the planned timeline. Scheduled to be finished in December 2015, the interconnection aims to close off the so-called Baltic Ring, a network of power connections surrounding the Baltic Sea region, and eliminate the existing “energy islands” in the internal European Union electricity markets. The three Baltic countries - Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia - will be connected to a Continental Europe power grid.
