LitPol Link building bridges and creating positive energy between Poland and LithuaniaSeptember 21, 2015
An international open air artistic workshop "Light Factor" for students of Łódź University of Technology (Poland) and Vilnius Academy of Arts (Lithuania) was finished with a great success. The workshop was concluded by an international debate on Poland-Lithuanian cooperation, culture and geopolitics in which participated art students, university professors, politicians and local community representatives both from Poland and Lithuania, titled: “Building bridges and creating positive energy between Poland and Lithuania through the collaboration of artistic communities, business organizations and local authorities”.
The purpose of this event was to develop relations and build bridges between local Lithuanian and Polish communities.
The workshop and debate was organized by “LitPol Link” company, an international coordinator of the preparatory and construction works for the implementation of Lithuanian-Polish power interconnection LitPol Link.
From 31st August till 9th September 2015, students of the Vilnius Academy of Arts (mainly painters) and the Technical University of Łódź (textile designers), participated in an open-air workshop “Light Factor" near Aviris lake in vicinity of Druskininkai, Lithuania. This year event was a continuation of a successful workshop in Ełk, which was organized by “LitPol Link” company last year.This year, students - under the watchful eyes of their mentors – created the impressions of scenery of Lithuania, inspired by the theme "Light Factor". The results of the workshop - products of creative skills and imagination of the students in the form of paintings or photographs could be seen on the final day of workshop. They will also be exhibited in several locations in Poland and Lithuania and will be published in a booklet summarising the event.
The workshop and debate gave a unique opportunity to share the views on cultural and economic exchange between our two countries. Such discussions expand our mutual relations and broaden mutual understanding and cooperation, which will lead us for the future common success on different platforms of relationship between Poland and Lithuania Artūras Vilimas, CEO of “LitPol Link”
The debate was attended by distinguished guests, including history professor of Vilnius University Alfredas Bumblauskas, Institute of Architecture of Textiles of Łódź University of Technology lecturer Dr hab. Aurelia Mandziuk-Zajączkowska, Dean of Vilnius Art Academy Česlovas Lukenskas, director of trade and investment promotion section of Polish embassy in Vilnius minister-adviser Henryk Szymański, mayor of Ełk municilality Tomasz Osewski and professor of Łódź University of Technology Władysław Mielczarski. The debate was moderated by Head of Pilietinių Inicjatyvų Centras (Centre for Civic Initiatives) Mr. Girvydas Duoblys.
During the international workshop and debate social, artistic and political connections between two neighboring countries, Poland and Lithuania were build. As a Company building a power bridge between Poland and Lithuania we realize that for cooperation between nations to be successful bridges need to be built on several levels - social, artistic, political.
