The agreement for design and construction of Elk substation signed

On May 2, 2012 agreement on "Construction of the 400/110 kV Elk Bis substation, stage I and II" between PSE Operator and ELFEKO S.A. was signed. This work is a part of the project of the construction of energy power interconnection between Poland and Lithuania.

Company ELFEKO S.A. which is a winner of the tender is recognized company in Polish energy sector.

The agreement with the contractor includes building of the substation 400/110 kV Elk Bis in the ‘turnkey’ formula along with obtaining the necessary decisions.

Substation in Elk is a strategic intersection of the system, that connects planned transmission lines between Elk and Alytus (Lithuania) and Elk – Lomza. The completion of the works is planned for 2015. The station will be connected to the existing station Elk via the 110 kV line.

The development of the electricity grid in the region will not only increase security of electricity supply, but will also be an opportunity for economic growth and increase importance of northern-eastern region of Poland for potential investors.
